Moore, Operations & Maintenance Director <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorize Bids for Street Sign Replacement <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />At the February 17 City Council Work Session, the City Council was presented with some <br />options relating to street signs. Funds have been included in the 2004 budget for replacement of <br />all City street signs. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Most recent total project cost estimates have indicated that the total cost for purchase of <br />materials, removal of existing posts and signs, and installation of new ones, could range from <br />$55,000 - $70,000. This would necessitate a formal bidding process. Therefore staff is <br />requesting authorization to prepare specifications and advertise for bids. <br /> <br />Based on input and discussion at the work session, the specs will include the following: <br />. Round posts <br />. Singlc panel, double-faced sign, reinforced <br />.
