<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />... <br />~HiU~ <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />March 10,2004 <br /> <br />ITEM: 2E <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br /> <br />FROM: Michelle Wolfe, City Administrato~ <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Human Rights Resolution and Work Plan <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />At the March 8, 2004 City Council meeting, the City Council reviewed a number of options for <br />responding to Human Rights concerns that have been brought to our attention, Primarily there <br />has been focus on some incidents that have occurred at lrondale and Mounds View High <br />Schools, Council provided input on a draft Proclamation that is proposed for adoption by all of <br />the communities within the Mounds View School District boundaries, That input was forwarded <br />to School District Superintendent Jan Wittuhn, The Council also expressed a desire for an Arden <br />Hills Resolution, Councilmember Larson agreed to draft a resolution for consideration, Lastly, <br />the City Council wanted see a complete list of possible options and discuss them further at the <br />March 15 Work Session, <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The draft resolution and work plan are attached for your review, Your input on both is desired <br />during the work session discussion, The work plan will be a working document, updated as <br />needed, The list of actions included in the resolutions will be amended per direction provided at <br />the work session, <br /> <br />REQUESTED ACTION <br /> <br />1, Discuss the proposed resolution and indicate any desired changes, A final draft will <br />be placed on the agenda for approval at the March 29 City Council meeting, <br />2, Discuss the draft work plan, Indicate items that you would like to proceed with, <br />items you do not wish to pursue, items that require further information or discussion, <br />or any other related actions, <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />A, Draft Resolution <br />B.
