~ ~~ILLS e CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION No. 04-34 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE MINNESOTA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills contains within its city borders the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant that is being transferred by the Army to provide parcels ofland to the City for development, the County for parks, and the Army National Guard for on-going training under the name of Arden Hills Army Training Site (AHA TS); and WHEREAS, there are currently 4,700 Army National Guard troops in the metro area who have trained or will train at AHA TS; and WHEREAS, of the 3,600 Minnesota Army National Guard troops currently deployed, . 2,300 are from the metro area and AHA TS facility; and WHEREAS, these Army National Guard troops are serving international deployments in excess of 12 months in combat as well as their traditional support roles; and WHEREAS, these Army National Guard troops are our families, friends, and neighbors who are sacrificing their employment, the comfort of their homes, their health, well-being, and their lives in service to their country; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills publicly declares its whole-hearted support of the Army National Guard; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills is proud to be home to the training site used by so many of our courageous and loyal troops; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills sends our troops best wishes for safe return to their homes; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills intends to continue a mutually-supportive and productive relationship with the Army National Guard, anticipating a long future of cooperation in building our shared community. ..
