Estimates OVERVIEW Staff has been working with the .City of Roseville on the information technology needs for the new Maintenance Facility. There are two options that would allow the Maintenance Facility to have access to the internet, e-mailetc '. , . The first would be utilize the County's system and pay a monthly fee. At this point, the County is contemplating extending TI lines into the building. The monthly cost for this is not currently known. . The second and preferred approach would be to extend fiber from our existing City Hall to the Maintenance Facility. This would allow for a connection to the Institutional Network (I-Net). In addition to being able to access e-mail and the internet, the facility would have access to the City Hall network/server. The fiber would be installed within the Highway 96 right-of-way and should be done before the driveway north of Ham line Avenue is paved. The paving will likely begin in June or July. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS The current estimate to complete the work is $14,726. An alternate of $4,295 is included in the attached estimates, but staff is not recommending that this work be pursued at this time. To account for any unforeseen issues, staff would request that $17,000 be authorized ($14,726 based on the estimate, and $2274 for contingency). This project is currently not budgeted. The Cable Special Revenue Fund is the proposed source of funding for the project. .
