The <br />approximately 49,000 square foot building was built in 1960. The renovation contemplates <br />converting the existing gymnasium in Ri]ey Hall for use as main level offices and upper level <br />classrooms. The only portion of renovation which would extcnd beyond the existing footprint is <br />an 8.5' by 9' entry vestibule which is planned for the west side of the building. During <br />construction for the renovation project, Northwestern is planning to use the area around the south <br />and east sides of the building for construction staging. . <br /> <br />Site Plan Review <br /> <br />1. Building Area / Floor Area Ratio - Meets requirement <br /> <br />The floor area ratio requirement for the R-] District is.3. The proposed renovation of Ri]ey <br />Hall would add 7,000 square feet of floor space to the building which will be aehieved by the <br />creation of a second usable level inside the existing gymnasium. The height of the building <br />will not change. In addition, the 7,000 square feet would not have an impact on the floor <br />area ratio with a campus of this size. <br /> <br />2. Lot Covered by Structure - Meets requirement <br /> <br />The only addition to the building footprint is an 8.5-foot by 9-foot entry vestibule on the west <br />side of the building. A change this minor will not affect the lot coverage numbers for the <br />Northwestern Campus. <br /> <br />3.
