Moore; Director of Operations & Maintenance <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Follow Up City Hall Landscaping Options <br /> <br />Backl!round <br />At the February 16, 2004 Work Session, the City Council was presented with a memo from Staff <br />regarding possible Landscape Options for City Hall. That memo is attached for your review. <br />. The consensus reached at the February 16, 2004 Work Session by the City Council was: <br /> <br />I. No additional evergreen trees are needed to screen the City Hall from Highway <br />96. <br />2. The City Council would wait until the growing season to evaluate the turf areas. <br />3. The Prairie Grass area would be reevaluated after the current maintenance <br />contract expires in 2007. <br /> <br />An additional landscape item for possible Council consideration has developed since the <br />February 16,2004 Work Session. That item is the death of the five deciduous trees which are no <br />longer under warranty. The replacement cost per tree, with installation, sales tax, and a one year <br />warranty is $650.' The total replacement cost would be $3,250. <br /> <br />Budl!et <br />Any Council approved actions for the landscaping at City Hall would be completed in 2005. <br />Thus, the expenditures would be listed in the 2005 Budget, under City Hall Expenses. Staff <br />would present these possible expenditures, for City Council approval, during the 2005 Budget <br />process. <br /> <br />Requested Council Action <br />Provide work direction to staff in the following areas: <br />
