A component of this plan is to stencil all stoml water drains
in the city, This action is designed to create awareness to the residents that those materials such
as: grass clippings, animal waste, leaves, and motor oil should not be disposed of in or near a
storm water drain/catch basin. The stencil options presented to the City Council were I) a .
generic stencil that reads "DRAINS TO RICE CREEK" or 2) a site specific stencil that identifies
the water system such as "DRAINS TO KARTH LAKE". The consensus reached by the City
Council was that a site specific stencil would be more effective. The City Council also indicated
that two stencils per water system should be purchased. Staff identified seven water systems in
the City of Arden Hills.

BUDGET
The funding source for this purchase will be the Storm Water Utility Enterprise Fund. The low
bidder for 14 storm water stencils was Names & Numbers located in Burnsvil1e, Minnesota.
Their bid for 14 stoml water stencils is $869.70, including sales tax. Names & Numbers is the
leader in providing storm water stencils to the cities in the metro area.

REO US TED COUNCIL ACTION
Authorize staff to purchase 14 storm water stencils from Names & Numbers located 111
Bumsville, Minnesota at a cost not to exceed $869.70. including sales tax.

.
