<br />! <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~~HILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 349 <br /> <br />An Ordinance Creating an Economic Development Commission <br /> <br />The City Conncil of Arden Hills herehy ordains that the following section is added to the <br />Municipal Code: <br /> <br />Section 220.04 Economic Development Commission <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Establishment of Commission. An Economic Development Commission is <br />herehy established to facilitate positive interaction with the business community and advise the <br />City Council and Economic Development Authority on economic development, redevelopment, <br />and related conmnmity development issues. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 Composition. The Economic Development Conunission shall consist of seven <br />members appointed by thc City Council. Membership shall be opcn to any resident or nOn- <br />resident business representative that is intcrested in the business climate and economic <br />development direction of the City. There shall be at least three Arden Hills residents represented <br />on the Commission. Any member ofthe Commission may be removed by a majority vote of the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Subd.3 Attendance at Meetings, Any member of the Economic Development <br />Commission who has unexcused absenccs from three consecutive meetings, or a total of one- <br />third of all meetings in a calendar ycar, shall automatically be removed from office without City <br />Council action. The City Administrator shall notify the member of his or her removal. <br /> <br />Suhd, 3 Terms and Compensation. Appointment to thc Economic Development <br />Commission shall be made on an annual hasis, or more often if required. Members shall be <br />appointed Jor three year terms beginning on February 1" and ending on January 31" of the third <br />year. Initial appointments shall be as follows: three members shall be appointed for a tenn of <br />three years, two membcrs shall be appointed for a term of two years, and two members shall be <br />appointed for a tenn of one year. Commission members shall serve without compensation. <br /> <br />Suhd. 4 Vacancies, In the case of a vacancy during the ternl of ofJice 0 f any member of <br />the Commission, the City Council shall appoint a member to serve the remainder of the term. A <br />vacancy shall exist if any of the following occur: death, failure to serve, or resignation. <br /> <br />Sulld. 5 Organization. Thc Mayor, with approval of the City Council, shall annually <br />appal nt one member to serve as Chair of the Commission. The Chair shall be responsible for <br /> <br />#349 - ] <br />
