Due to the lack of a water main extension, this area does not have a back-up <br />water system that is capable of providing water in an emcrgency situation. In addition <br />part of the current water system is currently running underneath Karth Lake. Staff is <br />unable to repair a leak in the water line that runs underneath the lake. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Project Rationale: <br />This project could be tied together with the Lexington Avenue reconstruction project. <br />The construction company would have the capability to lay the new water pipe <br />I undcmeath this project. Ramsey County would complete the earth work and then bury <br />, the water pipes for the City. The City would save money on engineering and <br />I construction costs for this project. <br /> <br />1-- <br /> <br />. <br />
