Historically the operating budgct has been divided in the following manner: <br />. City of Arden Hills 25.0% <br />· City of North Oaks 12.5% <br />. City ofShorcview 62.5% <br /> <br />The Fire Board rccently reached a conscnsus and approved a new approach for budgeting future <br />fire department cxpenses. In 2006, thc operating budget will be based on a new fonnula. The <br />new fOllliula that was approved by thc Lake Johanna Fire Board is based upon the following four <br />factors: <br />. Population <br />. Households <br />. Market Valuc <br />. Fire Calls (5 year average) <br /> <br />25% <br />25% <br />10% <br />40% <br /> <br />Under the proposed fonnula, thc City of Arden Hills will be paying 26.3% of the total annual <br />budget. Therefore, this is not a significant increase for the City, but the preliminary amounts are <br />based upon a fonnula that could change over time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson said that he has been a Lake Johanna Fire Department board member for <br />. many years and that thc current percentage breakdown of firc related costs between the three <br />
