Mr. Hellegers said that this ordinance IS the same that was proposed by the Planning Commission, Councilmember Holden asked if some homes may be non-conforming at this time, Mr. Hellegers said that some homes will be non-conforming, Councilmember Larson said that he is comfortable with allowing open-air porches and the acceptable materials listed. Councilmember Holdcn asked how much value is added to a home that constructs a four season porch, . Finance Director Murtuza Siddiqui said that the projected value of the porch would be added to the home, Mayor Aplikowski stated that shc did not want to hinder someone from constructing a four season porch, Councilmcmbcr Grant noted that with improved insulation and windows a resident could easily turn a thrcc scason porch into a four season porch. Mayor Applikowski asked the City Council why the City should care if a residcnt has a three or four season porch. Councilmember Larson said that he believes three scason and open air porches are less intrusive. Councilmcmbcr Grant recommends that open-air screened porches be allowed. . A majority of the City Council supportcd the idca of allowing open air or screen front porches. 6
