<br />Directed and supervised six Regional Supervisors with <br />overseeing the acquisition, development, maintenance, and <br />operations of statewide trail and water recreation programs, <br />including: 3,000 miles of river recreation routes, 1,550 public <br />water access sites, 200 public fishing piers, over 1,000 miles of <br />state trails, 14,000 miles of grants-in-aid trails, the State's first <br />Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area, and safe harbors on <br />Lake Superior. <br />Coordinated the development of annual work plans/spending <br />plans for each region and assessed budgetary needs for <br />implementing regional and area work plans. <br />Facilitated cooperation and coordination between field <br />operations and central office trail recreation, water recreation <br />and administrative services sections. <br />Conducted all normal supervisory functions including <br />recruitment, hiring, performance management, employee <br />development, disciplinary actions, and promotional ratings. <br />Developed and implemented Division team structures for <br />Division management, communication, priority setting, and <br />problem solving. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Oetobcr 1988 . <br />August 199n <br /> <br />State Trail Planner <br />Division of Trails and Waterways, Minnesota Department of <br />Natural Resources. <br />Designed and implemented a process for the planning and <br />management of State trails. <br />Conducted site analysis for state trail development proposals. <br />Initiated and conducted public meetings and workshops to <br />inform and gather input to direet development <br />recommendations for State trails. <br />Prepared and published master plans for the development of <br />State trails. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />May 1986. <br />October 1988 <br /> <br />Outdoor Recreation Grants Administrator <br />Division of Community Development, Minnesota <br />Department of Trade and Economic Development. <br />Administered Federal Land and Water Conservation <br />(LA WCON) funds and State grants to local units of <br />government to facilitate park and recreation acquisition and <br />development. <br />Increased the quality of grant applications by developing a <br />grant manual and developing and presenting workshops <br />throughout the state. <br />Provided design and technical assistance to local units of <br />government to enable them to rank competitively for funds. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3 <br />
