The key to success will be a working partnership with all of the participating agencies to select the most appropriate CAD system and to work out the details of how individual community dispatching needs will be accommodated. "Maple wood should have representation on the joint powers board, or an ability to set minimum standards that cannot be deviated from without approval of the City" Each PSAP that becomes part of the consolidated Dispatch Center will be represented on the policy committee as well as having representation on any working group that is selling the minimum standards. "Maplewood must express concern that there are few details yet on what Ihe . operating budgel will be .... and that there is little tactual information available .." ~ere is no detailed slaffing plan or budget set for a consolidated PSAP, because we do not know how many communities will be included, However, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners is committed to making a consolidated PSAP successful. This commitment has been demonstrated by actions to fund a new radio system, form a dispatch policy oversight body, and proceed with the construction of a new dispatch facility that is sized to provide for countywide dispatching at the "Car-Lo" site.
