<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />OVERVIEW <br /> <br />The Comprehensive Plan guides the future of the community, It sets overall <br />direction and provides a framework for on-going decision making within the City. <br />It contains the larger picture goals and policies as well as some specific items to <br />achieve the City's preferred future. The following items address specific <br />measures to be taken by the City to implement the goals and policies of the <br />Comprehensivc Plan. <br /> <br />II. IMPLEMENTATION OF SPECIFIC CHAPTERS <br /> <br />Chapter 1: lntroduction <br /> <br />The 2000 Census data will be available in 2002. This section will need to be <br />revised to show the new statistical data. <br /> <br />Chapter 3: Land Use <br /> <br />South of <br />Highway 96 <br /> <br />Since nearly all of the land south of Highway 96 is <br />developed, the emphasis in this area is to continue to <br />strengthen the neighborhoods, parks and trails, businesses <br />and employment centers that exist. Tbe City will continue <br />to work with the North Mctro 1-35W Corridor Coalition <br />on common issues that work to protect and improve <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />I, Develop a new zoning district, Neighborhood <br />Business, designed to allow some limited, compatible <br />commercial uses to be located on the edge of <br />neighborhoods, providing goods and services for <br />nearby citizens. <br /> <br />2. Continue to work with the North Metro 1-35W <br />Corridor Coalition on sub-regional planning processes <br />and issues in order to support the Land Use Plan for <br />Arden Hills. <br /> <br />3. Address inconsistencies between the Comprehensive <br />Plan and Zoning, as follows: <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills Comprehensive Plan, 1998 <br />Implementation <br /> <br />Page 100 <br />
