Allied Blacktop <br />suhmitted the low bid with a total bid amount of $34,754.56 and Parson Bros., Inc. submitted the second hid of $37,469.76. <br />The low bid is approximately 7.6% lower than the Engineer's Estimate indicating a competitive price for the scope of work <br />included with the project. <br /> <br />There was also an Alternate in the bid and Allied Blacktop submitted the low bid for that as well. The low bid from Allied <br />Blacktop for the Alternate is $4,960.00 while the bid from Parson Bros., Inc. for the Alternate was $5,347.50. The low bid for <br />the Alternate is approximately 5,3% lower than the Engineer's Estimate, again indicating a competitive price for the scope of <br />work included with the project. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The City Engineer, therefore, recommends the award of the 2005 Seal Coating Project. including the Alternate, to Allied <br />Blacktop for the total amount of $39,714.56.
