In an emergcncy affccting more than onc political jurisdiction, oflicials of all jurisdictions involved <br />will coordinatc their scrvices to the maximum extent possible. <br /> <br />3. The City of Ardcn Hills Emcrgency Managemcnt Dircctor will assist in providing rcsourcc <br />coordination bctwcen governmcnt agencics and the private scctors. <br /> <br />4. City govcrnment resources must bc utilized to thc maximum bcfore statc or federal assistance will <br />bc madc available. <br /> <br />5. Each agcncy, department, or scrvice of city govcrnment will maintain records during an emergcncy. <br />These records should includc work hours, cquipment hours, supplics and materials consumcd, <br />injurics to pcrsonncl, and damagc to public facilities and equipment. <br /> <br />Support <br /> <br />I. National Guard <br />~~~ . <br />When a natural disastcr or other major emergency is beyond thc capability oflocal govcrnment, <br />support from National Guard units may bc available. Only the Governor, as Commandcr-In- <br />Chicf of the Minncsota National Guard, has the authority to activatc thc Guard. Thc purposc of <br />thc activation is to ensurc the prescrvation of life and property and to support civil law <br />cnforcement agencies: <br /> <br />. National Guard assistance will complement, and not bc a substitutc for county and/or city <br />participation in emergency opcrations. <br /> <br />. If made availablc, National Guard pcrsonnel remain undcr military command at all timcs, <br />but will support and assist county and/or city forces in thc accomplishmcnt of a spccific task <br />or tasks. <br /> <br />b) Requcst Proccdure <br />In the case of the County and thc City of Ardcn Hills, the Shcriffmust submit thc rcquest for <br />assistance to the Govcmor's Office. <br /> <br />Rcquests for activation of the National Guard are to be submitted to thc Statc Duty Officcr by <br />calling (651) 649-5451. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />14 <br />
