Falcon Heights Rates for 2004 <br /> <br />Falcon Heights residents pay several charges related to disposal of solid waste. Recycling is billed with <br />the property tax. Trash hauling bills include a base rate for pick-up and disposal of trash, the volume- <br />based County Environmental Charge (which used to be paid on the tax bill), and state tax. There may <br />also be extra charges for yard waste, special pickups or other extra services. <br /> <br />The scheduled rates of the City's licensed residential refuse haulers for basic collection are listed in the <br />table below. Haulers are required to submit a rate list armua!ly when they apply for their business <br />license, and to notify the City when there is a change of rates. However, the rates do not match <br />proportionately with container sizes. For example, even allowing for tax being included in the BFI rate, <br />their customers pay more for the 32 gallon capacity than Gene's customers pay for a 38 gallon capacity. <br />And businesses with equal size containers do not charge the same rates.
