b

'~l

Bfl

",../co_

March 9, 2004

Dear Customer:

We feel it is important to update you about a serious proposal being considered by the City of Falcon
Heights. This proposal would radically change how your waste hauling services are provided

City's Prooosal will Hurt Consumers
The proposal by the City of Falcon Heights would eliminate the current system where customers select the
waste hauler that best meets their needs for service and price. Instead, the City wants to impose
government-managed/public collection system where the City determines who haUls yaW" waste and
determines the rate you, the customer, will pay. .

. Some of YaW" city officials believe the eIimimrtion of competition between garbage service providers will
significantly reduce .the damage to the streets but they apparently don't have a plan to eliminate
competition by your many other service and dellvery providers who also use your streets on a daily basis.

Abdicating the right to choose your waste hauler as well as the rate you.will pay and the service level you
will receive is a high price to pay where 1here is no guarantee of an offsetting benefit

We Need Your HelD .
We take the City's proposal very seriously and are encouraging support from our customers in the City of
Falcon Heights, local elected leaders and others who would likely oppose such a move.

Please, help stop govemment-managedlpubllc collection. Let's preserve customer choice, competitive
prices and reliable service. Take a moment to complete and return the enclosed support card. We will
share your card with members of the city counciL You have our assurance that your private information
will not be sold or used for any commercial purpose.

We are proud to be your waste service provider and appreciate your business. If you have any questions
please contact Craig Selm 651-286-4570.
