<br />t <br /> <br />. Resolution Adoptin2 the National Incident <br />Mana2ement System <br />(NIMS) <br /> <br />Compliance requirement: To recognize formally the NIMS principles and policies. States, <br />territories, tribes and local entities will meet this requirement by approving a resolution that <br />adopts NIMS as the standard for incident management. Please note that jurisdictions currently <br />receiving homeland security grant funding and any county, city, township, or tribal government <br />that intends to apply directly for federal preparedness, prevention or planning grants must adopt <br />and implement NIMS at the local government level. <br /> <br />State and Local Jurisdiction Compliance <br />NIMS principles and policies <br /> <br />State and Local <br />jurisdictions shall <br />approve a resolution <br />that recognizes and <br />adopts the NIMS. <br /> <br />Implementation Steps <br /> <br />- Take appropriate measures to ensure that the governing authority for your <br />jurisdiction (i.e., city council, county board, etc.) approves a resolution that recognizes <br />and adopts the NIMS. Jurisdictions may use the sample resolution below in preparing <br />a NIMS resolution. <br /> <br />Such resolution must <br />be adopted by the <br />state or local <br />jurisdiction no later <br />than December 31, <br />2005. <br /> <br />- Notify Ben Kosel, HSEM state agency coordinator, when the resoiution has been <br />adopted.
