The hose bibs <br />would be used by City staff as needed to water thc planting beds, The second scenario includes <br />complete irrigation system for each planting bed with timer controls etc, The following is a cost <br />summary for Landscaping Alternative #1 and irrigation: <br /> <br />Landscape Alternative #1 <br /> <br />City Cost: <br />County Cost: <br /> <br />$ 135,000 <br />$ 150,000 <br /> <br />Irrigation Scenario #1 <br />Irrigation Scenario #2 <br /> <br />$ 42,000 <br />$ 60,000 <br /> <br />Maintenance costs are estimated in the $5,000-10,000 range annually, <br /> <br />The intent of the discussion Monday is to review the concept plan prepared by URS and consider <br />whether irrigation is worth the anticipated cost. The project will be discussed as a part ofthe <br />capital improvements program discussion in the context of overall impact to City finances, If the <br />Council decides not to pursue the enhanced landscaping improvements in 2006, the County will <br />proceed with planting trees in spring 2006, <br />
