<br />The Task Force meetings were attended by an attorney representing the garbage haulers, <br />representatives from various garbage hauling companies, and a local resident to observe and <br />listen in to the discussions ofthe Task Force. <br /> <br />The Task Force considered a number of options, as outlined below for addressing the garbage <br />hauling issues as it pertained 10 the preservation of streets. They considered pros and cons of <br />each of the options considered. Listed below are the options that were considered: <br /> <br />Divide Existine: Haulers into Quadrants <br />Pros: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Limits only one hauler into the neighborhood, therefore, reducing the truck traffic. <br />This will reduce the wear and tear of the streets. <br />Due to efficiencies on the side of the hauler, residents may be able to get a price <br />break <br />Fewer trucks III the neighborhood. Less nOIse and air pollution, and traffic <br />reduction. <br />Haulers do nollose business if the neighborhoods are divided equally. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Cons: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Takes away Ihc choice from the residents. They will not have a choice to go to <br />another hauler ifthey are dissatisfied with the existing hauler. <br />This will require some level of involvement from Ihe City.
