Moore; Direetor of Operations & Maintenance <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Gateway Sign Discussion <br /> <br />Backl!round <br />At the March 21, 2005 Council Worksession, staff presented a gateway sign update which <br />included possible sign locations, design styles, composition, lighting and landscape options. The <br />consensus reached by the City Council was: <br /> <br />I. The first sign location will be at the intersection of Cleveland and County Road D within <br />the existing easement. <br /> <br />2. Staff should incorporate the Kasota Stone to the composition of the gateway signs. The <br />Kasota Stone will be supplied from the City's stock pile leftover from the construction of <br />the City Hall. <br /> <br />3. Staff should bring back a cost estimate of a gateway sign using Kasota Stone. <br /> <br />4. Design Style #4 is the preferred design. <br /> <br />Review <br />Enclosed for City Council review are four sets of diagrams detailing the location, the preferred <br />design style, composition and lighting. The composition will be Kasota Stone for the base and <br />sides, concrete for the top and back and stecl for the logo. <br /> <br />Budl!et <br />The cost for this project will be $24,675.
