GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills covcrs nearly 9.4 square miles and is home to almost 10,000 residents <br /> <br />and approximately 15,000 full time workcrs. The City is bounded by Interstate 35W to the west, <br /> <br />Lexington Avenue to thc east, Ramsey County Road I to north, and Ramsey County Road D to <br /> <br />the south. Highway 96, Interstate 694, and Snelling AvelHighway 51 bisect the community, <br /> <br />which crcates at least ten unofficial neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Although thc City is surroundcd by fully developed communitics, only the southern portion of <br /> <br />Ardcn Hills is considered developed. The Twin Cities Anny Ammunition Plant (TCAAP), <br /> <br />which occupics nearly four square miles ofthe City, has no residential or commercial <br /> <br />. development at this time. While much ofTCAAP will remain open space, approximately 500 <br /> <br />acres is likely to bc developed for residcntial, commercial, and office purposcs, <br /> <br />Ardcn Hills has 15 parks that cover approximately 350 acres, including the Tony Schmidt Lakc <br /> <br />Johanna Regional Park. Additionally, there are seven lakes eithcr wholly or partially within the <br /> <br />City that providc numerous recreational opportunities. Ricc Creek flows through ilie TCAAP <br /> <br />property in the northwestern corner of the City, and is proposed to be part of the open space <br /> <br />corridor in TCAAP. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />11 <br />
