<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EXHIBIT C <br />DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND <br />LIMITATIONS OF AUTHORITY OF <br />RESIDENT PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE <br /> <br />If so directed by an executed Work Order, ENGINEER shall furnish a Resident Project Representative <br />(RPR), assistants and other field staff to assist ENGINEER in observing progress and quality of the work <br />ofContractor(s). <br /> <br />Through more extensive on-site observations of the work in progress and field checks of materials and <br />equipment by the RPR and assistants, ENGINEER shall endeavor to provide further protection for CITY <br />against defects and dcficiencies in the work ofContractor(s). However, ENGINEER shall not, during <br />such visits or as a result of such observations ofContraetor(s)' work in progress, supervise, direct, or have <br />control over Contractor(s)' work nor shall ENGINEER have authority over or responsibility for the <br />means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedure selected by Contractor(s), for safety precautions and <br />programs incident to the work ofContractor(s), for any failure ofContraetor(s) to comply with laws, <br />rules, regulations, ordinances, codes or orders applicable to Contractor(s)' performing and furnishing the <br />work, or responsibility of constrnction for Contractor(s)' failure to fumish and perform the Work in <br />accordance with the Contract Documents. In particular, the specific limitations set forth in paragraph <br />2.5 afthe Agreement are applicable. <br /> <br />The duties and responsibilities of the RPR are limited to those of ENGINEER in ENGINEER's <br />agreement with the CITY and in the construction Contract Documents, and are further limited and <br />described as follows: <br /> <br />A. General <br /> <br />RPR is ENGINEER's agent at the site, will act as directed by and under the supervision of ENGINEER, <br />and will confer with ENGINEER regarding RPR's actions. RPR's dealings in matters pertaining to the <br />on-site work shall in general be with ENGINEER and Contraetor(s), keeping CfTY advised as necessary. <br />RPR's dealings with subcontractors shall only be through or with the full knowledge and approval of <br />Contractor(s). RPR shall generally communicate with CITY with the knowledge of and under the <br />direction ofENGfNEER. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Duties and Responsibilities ofRPR <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />Schedules: Review the progress schedule, schedule of Shop Drawing submittals and schedule of <br />values prepared by Contractor(s) and consult with ENGINEER conceming acceptability. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Conferences and Meetings: Attend meetings with Contraetor(s), such as preconstruct ion <br />conferences, progress mectings, job conferences an other Project-related meetings, and prepare <br />and circulate copies of minutes thereof. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Liaison: <br /> <br />A. Service as ENGINEER's liaison with Contractor(s), working principally through <br />Contractor(s)' superintendent and assist in understanding the intent of Contract Documents; and <br />assist ENGINEER in serving as CITY's liaison with Contractor(s) when Contraetor(s)' <br />operations affect CITY's on-site operations. <br /> <br />ARDEN.
