<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~HILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-35 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RAMSEY COUNTY REGIONAL RAIL <br />AUTHORITY'S INTEREST IN ACQUIRING THE TCAAP RAILROAD <br />CORRIDOR IN ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a portion of the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) <br />Railroad Corridor extending through Arden Hills has been declared excess by the <br />United States Army; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the General Services Administration (GSA), working on <br />behalf of the United States Army, is in the process of negotiating for the sale of <br />the TCAAP railroad corridor; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has the opportunity to negotiate for the <br />purpose of acquiring the TCMP railroad corridor prior to the area being offered <br />through Public Sale; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is a current and future community and regional benefit <br />to be served by preserving the TCAAP railroad corridor for future transportation <br />purposes and business use; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority has <br />expressed interest in acquiring the TCAAP railroad corridor for preserving the <br />necessary right of way for future transportation purposes, as desired by the City; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the involvement of the Ramsey County Railroad Authority <br />would be more efficient in acquiring and maintaining the TCMP railroad corridor <br />as it extends across both Arden Hills and New Brighton. <br />
