CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 1245 WEST HIGHWAY 96 CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Aplikowski, Councilmembers: Gregg Larson, David Grant, Brenda Holden, and Vince Pellegrin Absent: None Staff present: City Administrator, Michelle Wolfe; Civil Engineer, Kris Giga; and Recreation Supervisor Michelle Olson Also Present: David McClung, William Henry, Roger Williams, Rich Straumann Mayor Aplikowski called the work session to order at 8:42 p.m. PTRC Chair Bill Henry handed out the approved Parks and Trails Vision and the proposed Parks and Trails Strategies, He indicated thaI the PTRC hopes to see the Council come to agreement regarding the strategies, then proceed to a discussion regarding priorities, followed by a process to identify financial resources. He asked the council for feedback regarding the proposed strategies, Mayor Aplikowski asked what the PTRC thinks about trying to feature parks more as part of the "Celebrating Arden Hills" event. Mr. Henry responded that the PTRC had not discussed that topic but could discuss it in the future. Mr. Henry infonned the Council that thc PTRC is still gathering information about dog parks, Mayor Aplikowski asked Mr. Henry about the priority for trails. Mr. Henry stated that the priorities may vary dcpending on some other event or project, that a trail project could then "piggy back" on, A question was asked about the Tony Schmidt underpass project. Rich Strauman informed the Council that the County Parks commission was shown preliminary plans. He indicated that the projcct is supposed to happen in July. He added that we may be
