<br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~~ILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />Status: <br /> <br />Public Works Director <br />Public Works Department <br />City Administrator <br />Public Works Department, Engineering, and <br />Recreation Department <br />Full-Time, Exemot <br /> <br />Position Title: <br />Department: <br />Accountable to: <br />Positions Supervised: <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates all activities of the Public Works Department <br />including Streets, Water, Sewer, Parks and Recreational Programs, The Director <br />monitors the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Department and ensures <br />compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and ordinances. <br /> <br />. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br />Develops long range planning and development of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Provides assistance, including conducting or oversight of feasibility and cost studies to the <br />City Administrator and City Council, which will assist in the planning of the City's public <br />works and improvement programs. <br /> <br />Prepares and administers the annual departmental budget and monitors expenditures of <br />funds in budget. <br /> <br />Represents the City with state and county officials. <br /> <br />Directs operations of the water and sewer divisions to ensure compliance with all <br />applicable State and Federal health regulations, as well as meeting the present and future <br />water and sewer needs of the City and its customers, <br /> <br />Monitors operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, rules, policies <br />and ordinances. <br /> <br />Develops and oversees policies, procedures and practices to ensure safety and efficiency_ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Oversees the development of the department safety program including coordination of <br />monthly safety meetings. <br />
