The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, <br />and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals <br />with disabilities to perform the essential functions, <br /> <br />Minimum Requirements <br />. Bachelor's Degree in related field. <br />. Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of public works related experience. <br />. Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in the public works field and/or an <br />equivalent combination of education and experience. <br /> <br />Desired Qualifications <br />. Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience supervising <br />public works and/or parks and recreation operations and administration. <br />. Previous municipal government work experience <br /> <br />LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret plans and blueprints, contracts, ordinances, <br />technical journals, financial reports, development agreements, legislation, statutes, and <br />legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, <br />department staff, City Council, regulatory agencies, and members of the business <br />community. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with state <br />regulatory agencies, elected officials, City staff and members of the public, Ability 10 give <br />verbal presentations and speeches. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence <br /> <br />MATHEMATICAL SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, <br />Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages, Ability to prepare and administer an <br />annual budget. <br /> <br />OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES <br /> <br />Knowledge of the methods, techniques, tools, materials and equipment use in streets, <br />parks, water and sewer maintenance and construction. <br />Knowledge of turf management. <br />Ability to review and interpret building, water and sewer plans and specifications, <br />Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry basics. <br />Working knowledge of computers and software applications. <br />
