Minutes of Regular �eeting, December 14, 1959 <br />. Page 2 <br />Schreyer, Inc. submitted applications for cafe, soft drinks, and cigarette <br />�censes and also for Op-Sale intoxicating liquos� license. Upon motion <br />by Kennedg, seconded by Dei,ange, these licenses were approved subject to <br />�pp#oval by the Finance Committee. <br />Highway 10 Liguor Store, Inc, submitted an application for an Off-Sale <br />•intoxicating liquor license. N1r. John�on was present to explait� that <br />since Schreyer, Inc. intends to operate a cafe in connection with its <br />On-Sale liquor operation, it was necessary to sell their interest in the <br />Big Ten Tavern tc satisfy state law. There has been a new incorporation <br />to handle the Off-Sale business. This was also approved subject to <br />approval by the Finance Comuiittee, on motion by DeLange, seconded bv <br />Kennedy. - <br />Lynthon C. Anderson, doing business as �ndy's Place, submitted spplica- <br />tions for On-Sale and Oi'i-Sale Non-intox3cating B�qt�or, cigarette, soft <br />dri�ks and juke box licenses. A motion made bq Kennedy, seconded by <br />DeLange, that these licenses be approved subject to chacking by tha <br />Puolic Safety Department. Motion carried. <br />PUBLIC ROADS: DeLange reported that lst Avenue in New Brighton will not <br />be finished until.spring. The contractor ruined his equipment tr•ying to <br />move a frozen pile cf asphalt which vrill stay there until spring. The <br />• job was started too late this fall to give atisfactory completion. . <br />Crepeau said Yie had a request from Dr. Calif on County Road F and High- <br />way #16 for a nSlow - Children° sign. DeLange said this was a county <br />road with a 40_mile speed limit. The matter was referred to Deiange. <br />�UBI,IC WELFARE: John Piasky called Kennedy and asked to have his addi- <br />tional land ob Highway #96, 300 feet deep rezoned to cou�aercial. I�s. <br />Kennedy asked that the matter be turned over to his committee for recom- <br />mendation. <br />Delange said that he had received many requests to rent the ice scraper <br />the village is purchasing. After Council discussion, it was decided <br />that there would be many usas for this scraper within the Village and <br />it should not be rented out. <br />• <br />• <br />A motion was made by Kennedy, seconded by Delange that claims #1667-1671 <br />be approved. Motion carried. <br />Wiliiam Fiite appeared to give the Council an estimate for insurance on <br />the Town Hall, based on appr�isal from the 1iacGregor-Deyo Appr��eal Co. <br />Of the two suggeated policies, iiennedy recommended that the Clerk be <br />authorized to take out insurance to cover the replacernant cost of the <br />buildin� as per recommendation of Hite Agency. Council concurred with <br />thie recemmendation. <br />DeImnge stated that the drain�ge problem on Mounds and Prior is to be <br />placed first on next summer�s agenda ior correction as per Carleg�s pro- <br />file submitted at Council meeting. <br />
