' 20
• point 3s probably almost 200 feet that would not be subject to any
assessment.
Iu42. SHURT: Assessinq is not always done simply by the bare
amount of sewer in frnt of the house. In other words. Z think a good
example is the Case where your sewer runs up along th block and
terminates at the last house. He may have 2G feet of sewer in front
where the neighbor may have l00 feet, both of them having 109 foot lots.
I think everyone will aqree that his benefit , as long as the sewer
is extended far enough, is as great as the man next door. yet it
certainly wouldn't be equitable for the man to pay 100 feet of
frontage and the man next door 20,Il think yours is a somewhat
similar condition.
h-R. DOHPNER:' I think despite the £act that tfiis sewer main
• ends about the midd.le ofthat low part of tha saddle that I'm
still able to reach it from where my house is.
NR. SHORT: I would say this, that in making th assessment,
those facts have to be taken into account by ihe people making the
assessment. That at the time the assessment ro1I is published
and you have the oppoxtunity to know the amount of money, if it
was your feelinq that it was improper, that is your opportunity to
register ywr objections. Assessments like this are normally
reviewed with the Village Council so they rr.ay have an opportunity
to judge a number of similar problems so they can see the people
concerned are being treated equitably.
ff'i. DOi:PNER: At this time I would register in objection to
 the proposal.
N;AYOR ASHBACH: Anyone else?
Ni. JOHN E. DAUANEY, 110G Pioneer Building, Saint Paul:
