❑
31

MR. BANISTER:
Frank to answer your yuetion specifically,

and I reviewed this as recently as this afternoon with th
State Board of Health - there are no known cases of pollution
of individual wells from sewaye in Arden Hills. Now.,before that
simple statement is left at rest, no tests have been made, to carry
it a litle bit further. The State Bcard of Health has not made tests
and would not do it on a wholesale basis or come into the Village
of Arden Hills until specifically reyuested by the Village Council
and I be]ieve that has not ben done. To tarry your statemnt a
little farther - and these are figures I am not vouching for the
accuracy of them, I am only repeating them givtn to me by the
5tate Board of Health. 28 munfcipalities in ths surroundin9 area
have been tested and of those, on a mathematical projection it is
estimated that the wells tested would serve, if projected. 52,000
individual homes. 5^% of those have shown some evidence of
se+vage chem icals and I do not say,and I repeat so this s not a
scare or panic, pleas• do not misunderstand - the mere presence
of the sewage chemicals in itself does not mean that they are
polluted or unsafe.
answer yaur yuestion?
It is an indicatfon of a trend. Does that
DR, i=D'ikRD F. 'ALsH, 14Q1 Farest Lane: I am for the project.

I live on a street af perhaps 11 or 12 homes and of that number I
would venture to say there are 7 or 8 that are having trouble all the
way from having their cesspaols pumped to runnin9 out in the street.
I think that may be typical of any street and I think once an
individual has to have a cesspool pumped I think he's having trouble.
MR.
