Council set a meeting for Monday, May 22, at 8;00 p.m. at the <br />Village Hall to study these plans. <br />\ <br />A query by Court Commiasioners as to whether the Council would allcw lots <br />along Block 15 of Proposed Shorewood Hills #8 Plat to be smaller than the <br />Village specificatioqs was referred to .�ttor�ey, Engineer and I�2ayor.Council <br />authori2ed Engineer Petereon to have Twip Citg Testing make about four <br />borings to determine general soil conditiona in the general area and Attorney <br />Courtney stated he will have some photos made of the genaral area of proposed <br />Snorewood Hills �8 for the condemnation procedings. <br />PUBI,IC '1�i0RKS FtEPORT: Trustee Olmen inquirBd as to wnat can be done about <br />certain resident~sTTo should obtain sewer hookups to their property and do <br />not do so, as in the case of some who have cesspools overflowing onto private <br />or public property. Council requested Clerk tp send in a neevs ite�i to Rose <br />Tribune and Necr Brighton Bulletin asking residents to hook up to sewer before <br />proposed road improvemente are made. <br />• Mr. Olmen reported that Village road rastrictions, or load limits have now <br />beep li£ted and that the signs to that effect will be removed by the county <br />forces within a few days. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT: Mr. Crepeau reported his comrnittee met,April 25 to <br />consi er county sale of police service to Arden Hills. Tha committes <br />recommended th.at we keep our police dept. on the present 1oca1 basis and <br />again try to work out a program to employ deputy sherriffs on a part time <br />basis. itiir, Crepesu reported that effective Apr. 30, 1961 an order was issued <br />from the Ramsey Co. Sherriff's office t?hat no count9 emploqees could work ior <br />another goveinment unit in their spare time. Mr. Crepeau will request the <br />county to reconsider the matter, blr. Crepeau reported the resignation of <br />Polica Chief 1Veber and police officers Schmidt, Nielsen, IIamer and Barbeau <br />effective Apr. 30, 1961. Trustee Crepeau moved, Olmen seconded the motion <br />tnat Mr. i�. A, rish and iV�r. Jim Schmaedeke be appointed to work as p�l.ice <br />officere at a r ate oi' �2.00 per hour. Carried. <br />�1 request for slow speed signs on Thom Drive was referred to Trustee Olmen. <br />PiANNItdG & ZONING REPORT: Mr. Kennedy reported a meeting of nis Committee <br />with the o lowipg.recommendations giveq Council. <br />l. Tnis committee feels there should be a committee appointed <br />to enforce the Vi11a�e Ordinences ia junk cars, trailers, <br />unfiniahed buildings, trash, etc. Their job would be to <br />• go about the Village checking persons violating the above <br />and have the Village Clerk send them a letter asking them <br />to improve their property. If no response then it could <br />be turned over to the Uillage Attorney to act further. <br />\ � <br />
