D. Mr. Kennedy stated thet trea planting for acreening <br />purposes hed been called for in conneotion with this buildiag. Sinoe P6r. <br />Ryan laad no better auggestion as to acreening the matter was allowed to <br />stand. <br />Bdary Jane Isaksen presented a lettar from citizapa in her area. I,etter <br />was referred to Stanley 0]men, Commiasioqer of Public Worka. . <br />Diok Jonea, pewlg appoixited Iaison Officer betareen the village snd the <br />Houae of Representatives reported on the House billa which directly affeat <br />the village as followa: <br />• 1. a bill regarding a municipal gain for streeta is to apply <br />only after population of s village reaches 5,000, this <br />population to be determined at each censua period. :iowever, <br />if permission for a census to be taken in 1965 Sa given <br />snd a population of 5,000 or more inhabitants is determined, <br />then the villa�e does not have to wsit for the regular <br />1970 census. <br />2. A request is in the Housa from BBcGuirea Liquor Lounge to <br />put through a bill allo�ing a door from the Bottle Shop to the <br />On-Sale aectiop. If a bill of this nsture is passed the <br />matter would then have to come before the Arden Hills Village <br />Council for approval. <br />L�r. Sodenberg, 1200 �P. �dgewater explained that he and his neighbors oa <br />thia dead end street have experienced difficult roads in front of their <br />homes and know that with the spring thawa the road will become impassabla - <br />what can the Village do about thisY He is primarily concerned about thia <br />aituation in case o£ an emergency.. Mr. Olmen auggested that any sand or <br />gravel hauled in during a thaw period is lost iq the cley but that the road <br />program ia being worked on and should be ready to go as soon as roada hegin <br />to dry out. <br />CI�RK�S REPORT: A letter wss read from Mr. E. V. Bergstrom of Norbhern <br />a ea. owex.. o. explaiping the char�e of �1,328.00 installation fee for <br />electrio 9ervice at the sewage lift station at 3484 Ridgewood Rd. in the <br />•Village of Arden Hills. Mr. Roger Short of Bannister Engineering added more <br />detailed explanation of this charge and reoommended the Village authorize <br />payment. Motion by Kennedy, seconded bq Olmen to aut�orize Clerk to write <br />letter to Northern States PoweT Co. to go ahead with the iaatallation. <br />Carried. <br />\ I <br />
