Honan <br />Mlnutes <br />The minutes <br />approved as <br />of the Regular Counc6l Maet6ng of December 8, 1969, wsre <br />submitted. <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br />B3g Ten Supper Club - Siq� Variance Request <br />Mr. Jack Welsch from the Big Ten Supper Club was present to expis(n hIs <br />request for a 15 foot setback so the new slgn will be in Ilne wlth the <br />exlsting slgns. <br />Couneflman Crepeau moved, seconded by Councilman Hollenhorst, to atlow <br />the Big Ten Supper Ciub to place a sign with a 15 foot setback rather <br />Than the requ0red 25 foot setback; motion carried unanimously. <br />Mavor B.Iorndahl's Farewell as Mayor <br />Mayo� BJorndahl expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of all -.- <br />and especfaily mentioned Attorney Courtney, members of the Council, the <br />administrative staff, and the pu6BEc; he wished good luck to all. 7he <br />Council commended Mayor Bjorndahl for a job welt done. <br />Admintstratlon of Oaths to Newiy Elected Officers <br />Attorney Courtney administered the oath of office to Justice of the <br />Peace Douglas Barthany, Councilman Elect Ronald E. He�rick and Mayor <br />Elect Henry J. Crepeau, Jr. Terms of offfce witi begin Jenuary 2, 1970. <br />REPORT aF ATTORNEY VINCENT P. COURTNEY <br />As`aressment Collection O�dinance - Finat ReadEnq <br />Councilman Olmen moved, seconded by Caunc0lman Crepeau, to waive tits <br />rules and give the Second and F6nal Reading to AN ORDtiVANCE RELATING : <br />TO THE COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZING <br />COLLECTION OF INSTALLMENTS THEREOF BY RAMSEY COUNTY; motion carried <br />unanOmously. <br />Suburban Zonina Laws Leqlslation <br />The Counc6l requested Clerk Administrator Lorralne Stromquist to <br />provide the Councdl with copfes of an article regarding a bill flled in <br />the Senate whfch would break down suburban zoning to allow the con- <br />structtoP of apartments and lower cost housing in suburba� areas <br />throug�'iut the country. <br />Vlolatfons of SubdOvislon Requtatfons <br />� The Council requested Clerk AdmEnistrator Lorralne Stromqulst to arrite <br />�- : to the League of Mlnnesota Munic6pa�ities to call to their attention <br />that tand divislons are not being recorded Bn accordance with <br />munlclpalBties'.ordinances as prov6ded by the Municipal Plannfng <br />Act and to ask if they plan to take any actlon at the next Leglsiative <br />session. <br />SlmDle Easement Cost Establlshed � <br />CounCilman Hollenhorst moved, seconded by Councilman Crepeau, to <br />authorize Attorney Courtney blanket authorOty to pay $15.OQ for eithisr <br />water or sewer easements when no damage has been done; motio� carrfed <br />�animously. Easements costing over 515.00 are to be acted upon by , <br />th� Counc3l. <br />
