A sub-committee has been formed to study the property <br />nesds for the matntenanee department; sQecificafiion for a neM truck <br />are elso being drarn. <br />REPORT OF MAYOR BJORNDAHL - Parks and Recreation and Hu�an Rights <br />Parks and Recreation Meetinc <br />Mayor Bjoradahl reported thet the commtttee Nili again ,try to pinnt <br />our own nursery by planting evergreens tn a portion ot perry Park; <br />the area will be ptowed and reptanted. The coa�mittee wLll request <br />atd from hhe Arden H[Ils Jaycees for this proJect and a'ir,o for the <br />upgrading and leveling of the bailfields. The committee pla�s to <br />estaDlish an urban beautification program and atte�spt to qusitfy <br />for a HUD grant. <br />Mayor BJorndahl reported thet the Blue lEne Club proposed to buTJd <br />a covered skating ri�k tn the north area at an estimated cost of <br />160,000. This Nould be a rink primarily for hockey practice Sthe�e <br />are about 800 Doys playtng hockey ia this area), but wouid be <br />avatlable tor f(gure and f�ee skating +xhen notused for hockey practice. <br />Groups would be charged an hourly rate; indivtduals wovld psy an <br />admission charge. The rink would be tiaanced by revenve bonds. <br />Several of these rinks have been built in the range erea a�d ha�e <br />been very successful. <br />- 3 - <br />. <br />
