Arneaon in£ormed the <br />Counail that Mr. Schwaizer ia ware of this hearin�. <br />Mayor Kennedy then asked i£ anyone present wfshed to make a statem <br />ment ooncerning the (3rotto Club coodemnation = no reaponse. <br />Trustee Crepeau moned, seconded by Trustee Olmen, that the hearing <br />� be closed and Qotion deferred until September 17, 1963, to ellow <br />Mrs. Arneoon time to sell the property or make arrangementa to have <br />the buiZdinga demolished; motion carried. <br />STEPHENSON PROPERTY <br />• <br />Claq Kelleq, Building Inspector, briefly expleined the condition <br />of the buildin� atating that 30;$ of the front ia not encicaed and <br />aubject to being windawept; a portion of the main level ie aupported <br />bq 2 x 4.poata only, and that aeveral other atructura2 def'ecta alao <br />exiata He reco�nended condemnationo <br />Mro. 3taphenaon egreod that the appesrance of the buiiding is deplorm <br />able. iie atated thet he was not aware of an expiration date on <br />the building permit., ldr. 3tephenaon explsined that he had applied <br />�'or a variance in the building code in Julq 1960, which was not <br />granted until April 1961. After this delay, s finanaisl diff�culty <br />developed due to the death of his brothar, and, recently an autom <br />mobile gccidant hea hindered progresa on the buildinge <br />Mr. 3tepheneon informed the Counail that the mate�isl for the extario: <br />of the building - the roofing and the aSding, are on the premises <br />at thia time and will be oompleted within 30 days. <br />He explained that the exieting wiring ia tempor�ry and intends to <br />completely rer�ire the houaeo <br />Mayor Kennedy inquired as to the ownership of the property and Mr, <br />Stephenson adawered that he ia not in arrears on hia contraet Yor <br />deed, end Mr. Qunn, the Pee owner, is aware of thia hearing and <br />aould hsne appeared at this meeting if rec,ueated„ <br />Mr. Kelley informed the Counoil that the aode ia not concerned with <br />the eppearance of the building, but with the eafety oP tha structuree <br />and that certain aspeata of tha structure ahould be corrected <br />i�unediatelq, The me�in problem ia the opep ares which oould reault <br />in the complete aollap'ing of the building froan high Aind; there <br />sre three or four other areas which nead immediate carreotion. <br />Trustee Olmen atated hia reoommendation thet a ahort tin,e li:nit be <br />ginen for the entire completion of the building, <br />Truatee Crepeeu Felt that ffir. �elley and �Sr. Stephensod get together <br />and s deciaion be daferred untii the apecisl meeting of Sept, 17tho <br />Trustee Nethercut reoozmnendad that s progt�esa report be sv�ilable <br />at tha Auguat 26th meeting and plana presented to the Coudcil for <br />the c�pletion of the houae. <br />I�.
