• <br />• <br />3 <br />Crepeau submitted applications from Pat Sexton and Vic Pommeranke for <br />tne Justice of Pe�ce vacancy, to the Yiayor. <br />Mayor read a letter from �Irs, iu:ildred Carlson pertaining to the ra- <br />modeling of her lnome into a duplex. I�Iatter referred to Board o£ <br />Appeals. <br />Announcement of regular Council meeting of Japuary 4 was made. The <br />attorney was requested to be present to ewear in new ofFicers. Neet- <br />ing scheduled for 7:00 p.m. <br />A letter from Char'lee Edwards pertaining to sewer, building require- <br />ments, etc. was referred to Kennedy for answer. <br />P4ayor recommended that Council set up meeting after the first of the <br />year for the residents of Arden Hills #1 who are interested in con- <br />necting to the seaer. <br />Clerk reported t:iat the preliminary balance of December 28, 1959 <br />snowed tYie follo�ving in the various funds; General fund -�30,910.67; <br />Fund 1, Playground -��`'491.61; Fund 2, Grant Hoad -�667.22;, and <br />Fund 3, Sewer Construction - �87,455.28. <br />• Crepeau rnoved that the Clerk and Treasurer be authorized to invest <br />Village 1'unds in short term•aecurities until needed for village ob- <br />ligations, seconded by De7.ange. Motion carried. <br />� <br />. <br />/ <br />A letter from Banister Engineering Co, was reed concerning the cost <br />of installing 3 phase electric power service for the sewage lift <br />station. Since Northern States Power Company will not make the <br />power available without charge, Banister recommended that the Council <br />pay the �855 as requested. Kennedy moved that the action of the <br />Clerk �e raGified. Seconded by DeLange. Motion passed. <br />Crepeau moved that License Applications for Off-Sale non-intoxicating <br />malt liquor, cigarettes and groceries f'or Kemp�s Grocery be approved <br />subject to approval by the Public Safety' Department and completion <br />of application. Seconded by Kennedq. P�Iotion carried. <br />Crepeau moved that license applications for juke box, soft drinks, <br />cafe� cigarettea� Off- and On�Sale pon-intoxicati�n� malt liquor for <br />Grotto Club� Inc. be approved subject to approval by the Public <br />Safety Department. Seconded by Kennedy, motion passed. <br />Delan�e movad that Cla3ms #20�2 thx�ough #2047 be approved for payment. <br />Seconded by Crapeau, motion carried. <br />Mr. Read reported that he had the liquor license applications for <br />Scnreyer, Inc., Highway 10 Liquor Store, Inc., �14cGuire�s Liquors, Inc. <br />and Wa�on Wn.eel, and that t2e Finance Committee investigation is con- <br />tinuing. He stated that the Finance conunittee recorrimende renewals of <br />these licenses but would like to get the applicatione in more su�table <br />iorm and hopes to be a�le to submit them to tne Council by Jan uary 4. <br />
