�'. <br />�. <br />�. <br />MTNUTES �F REGULAR iv1EETI3�G <br />Council of the Villase of Arden Hills <br />Mondsy, November 28, 1960 <br />The meeting wae called to order at 8:00 P.M, by btayor Ashbach. <br />Roll Call: Present - Ashbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, Stromquist, Jones. <br />Absent - None <br />Also Attending - Vincent Courtney, Village Attorney <br />and Tom Lund from Bannister Enginneer4ng Co. <br />bSr. De�ickson of the Northern States Power Co. appeared before the Council <br />with a request for a better �umbering system in the Village, especially on <br />the location oP the new lift etation. �4re. Stromquist re£erred Mr. <br />Derickson to the Ramsey County Engineering Office which assigns our nuxnbers <br />in Arden Hills Village. <br />INFOHiJ��Ai, F'�EP.,RING OF FOX GO-fiY CARTWAY TRACT <br />Mr. b F or n, s.res en o Ar en s and rlr. Finley, representatives <br />of Power Tools, Inc. presented information as to operation, specifications <br />and so forth for this tract stating the proposed location is to be next to <br />the Harkins Driving Tee on the south side of County Road E and VJest of <br />Zexington. The carts used in this enterprise are four cycle concession <br />carts, not racing carts. Six carts are in use at one time �oing at a speed <br />of I.5 to 20 miles an hour. <br />Residents speaking in opposition to this pro_�osed cartv�ay: Mr. Ken Sparks, <br />�1385 Forest im ne, Mr, Ernest Fteimann, 1117 Tiller Lane and Ruth Cadwell <br />who brought in a petition signed Up residents on Skiles Iane and Forest <br />Lene opposing the cartway. Diek Jopes stated that R9r, ri,cGuire of P�1cGuire�s <br />ioun�e, located across the street from proposed cartway is opposed whila <br />Ivir. harkins of Harkins Driving Tee located next dooT to proposed cartway <br />favoTs. TvT�. Kennedy�s ti��elfare Committee after thorough study were oppoaed <br />to this project. <br />Nr. Kenned9 moved and n4r. Joqes secanded motion to deny application for <br />Cartway. Carried by unanimous vote of Council. <br />INFORitiAL HEARING ON PR.OPOSAL OF CONSTRUCTION OF FOi;ftPI�XES <br />T ese to e oca e e ween H g way an oun y ftoa F just east of <br />the bus �arage and repair shop. R�2°. Saborsky showed plans,of the proposed <br />apartments and spoke on behalf of Dr. Houle�s project. Dr. Houle continued <br />with more of the datails. <br />\ <br />Residents speaking in opposition to this proposal:Pvir. L. �1. nev✓man, 4051 <br />Valentine CouTt, moved out here to get away from apartment dwelling areas� <br />r�Sr. Justin Smalley, 1748 W. County Road F' who felt apartrnents will attract <br />farrilies with children which �vill add to the school load and will �eah more <br />taxes; hir. llpq gurrows, 1777 Grameie Rd.,who would like it kept a single <br />familg ddvelling area; Ws. Riehard L'artach, 1814 �C. �ounty Hoad F ie next <br />neighbor to this area and this building will not do his property any good; <br />Joe IrRcDonald, 4057 Ualentine Court who would keep it a single dwelling area; <br />i,ir. �Yiristenson, 3964 Fairvievu, opposed; Mr. E. R, Sewell, 4011 Fairview Ave. <br />�- No., opposad because apartment would decrease value of property. <br />iv1r. Jones moved and A'R�.
