Page Two
The Control Data buitding has good sod, some 14 evergreens welJ estab-
lished and was mowed at the time of my last inspection. The redwood
fence at the west end of the buiiding, screaning the parking tot, needs
repair and would be much isnproved o appearance with regutar sta(n
protection.
The area with 16 trees of a miimum diameter of !#" and conforms to the
landscape plan approved w(th the Toni Company bultding. The water
drainage area in the ceter of this green area has nofi been sodded as
of this date. This should be done and the parktng area would conform
to the viliage requtrements.
• At the Toni Company building, soui•hwest corner of Grey Fox Road and
Duniap, landscapfng fs now in progi-ess; approximately 20 of the sod
has been laid from the front property tine and founda#ioo planting
is i; sodd)ng and pianting some seven trees along the water dralnege
easement has not been done to date.
Landscaping at the Environmental Research building has Been completed
and is acceptable wfth the exception of the area abutting the water
drainage easement where sodding and tree piafiing wfli be in conjunctton
with the Toni Company sodding.
At the Northwssfiern [iel! 7elephone Company landscaping is completed
according to plan and is acceptod, but the maitenance of the sodded
area is very poor; much edild clover in the grass gives a very rough
shaggy appearance with a s-artling tange in tfie color; a regular program
of lawn care is necessary in the entfre Park.
Alog the easf side of Dunlap Street, in the area occupied by the four
ortginal warehouses, the general condition ts good; 95 of the found-
ation planting and lawn trees are in excellent condition, vigorous
new growth showing and -the size of the piants and trae5 is now such
tha-t they are in scafe wtth the bulk ot the buildings. The sodded
areas at the ttme of my initiai inspectton were i terrible condition,
much clover and dandelion stems and heads show)ng and area along 6rey
Fox Road littared w3th tunch bags and papers. Tenants are at present
mowing the sodded areas along Dunlap and Grey Fox Road and the appear-
ance is much improved, but the entire lawn should be top dressed.and
fertilized and then cien care o a regular basis. The tap sail is
eroding from large areas and wi{1 soon be substandard.
The boulevard trees are weii estabiished and growtng but would benefifi
from `eeding. Tha boulevard areas at the mosf northeriy buiding,
occupied by P4arquette Corporafifon, was being top dressed and seeded
at the tims o4 my last inspection, and hopefully this procedure will
be carried through the etire area.
Assuming that the landscaping now in progress at the southwest corner
of Dunlao and Gey Fox Road includes fihe planting of the trees required
by sita pians submiti-ed and approved, and that the lawn maintenance
now befng done be continued on a regutar basis, the completion of scren
• plani-Ing at the Soo line spur, repair of the parking !ot fence and com-
pletion of ornamsnta! planting at the tence area would fn my opinion
constitue adequate landscaping in the lndustrisl Park.
