<br />City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Chapter 4 Animals and Pets <br /> <br />event the animal is not licensed, the license fee required pursuant to Subsection 400.03. <br /> <br />Subd. 5 Release. Upon the presentation of proof of a valid license for the domestic animal <br /> <br /> <br />and payment of the fees provided in subdivision 4, the poundkeeper shall release the animal <br /> <br /> <br />to its owner. The poundkeeper shall further take such steps as are necessary to cause the <br /> <br />owner of the animal to be charged with any violation of this Chapter which gave rise to the <br /> <br />impoundment of the animal. <br /> <br />Subd. 6 Redemption by Person Other than Owner. If the owner of any domestic animal <br /> <br /> <br />impounded under this Subsection shall fail to redeem the animal within five (5) regular <br /> <br /> <br />business days after its impoundment, any other person may, upon complying with the <br /> <br />provisions of this Subsection, redeem the animal from the pound and be the lawful owner of <br /> <br />the animal thereafter. If the animal has been requested by a licensed educational or scientific <br /> <br />institution under Section 35.71 of Minnesota Statutes, then it shall be given to the institution <br />and shall not be sold. <br /> <br />Subd. 7 Disposition of Unredeemed Domestic Animals. All domestic animals impounded <br /> <br /> <br />under this Subsection which have not been redeemed or purchased as authorized in this <br /> <br /> <br />Section may be disposed of in a humane malUler by the poundkeeper or any police officer. <br /> <br />Subd. 8 Interference with Officers.
