The term of each member of the Planning Commission shall be for the <br /> <br />calendar year or the balance thereof following the member's appointment. <br /> <br />Subd. 3 Filling Vacancies. Vacancies in the Planning Commission occurring during the <br /> <br />calendar year shall be filled by the mayor as soon as conveniently possible with the approval <br /> <br />of the majority of the entire City Council. <br /> <br />Subd. 4 Chairperson. One (1) of the regular members of the Planning Commission <br /> <br />shall be designated by the mayor as the chairperson. <br /> <br />Subd. 5 Other Officers. The members of the Planning Commission may elect a vice <br /> <br />chairperson, II ~Ecrctllr), and such other officers as they shall deem appropriate. <br /> <br />Subd. 6 Powers and Duties. <br /> <br />A. Generally. The Planning Commission shall fulfill the function of the City's planning <br /> <br /> <br />agency and its board oCadjustmenlS and appeals.
