I' I. ~ I I I I I I II I I I I I I I ~ I City of Arden Hills Chapter 2 Administration Subd. 1 Civil Defense. "Civil Defense" shall mean the preparation for and the carrying out of all emergency functions, other than functions for which military forces are primarily responsible, to prevent, minimize and repair injury and damage resulting from disasters caused by enemy attack, sabotage, or other enemy hostile action, or from fire, flood, earthquake, or other natural causes. These functions include, without limitation, fire-fighting services, police services, medical and health services, rescue, engineering, air raid warning services, communications, radiological, chemical and other special weapons defense, evacuation of persons from stricken areas, emergency welfare services, emergency transportation, existing or properly assigned functions of plant protection, temporary restoration of public utility serVIces, and other functions related to civilian protection, together with all other activities necessary or incidental to preparation for and carrying out of the foregoing functions. Subd. 2 Civil Defense Emergency. "Civil Defense Emergency" shall mean an emergency declared by the governor under Minnesota Statutes, Section 12.31. Subd.3 Civil Defense Forces. "Civil Defense Forces" shall mean any personnel employed by the City and any other volunteer or paid member of the local civil defense agency engaged in carrying on civil defense functions in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter or any rule or order thereunder.
