VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />ORDINANCE NUMBER 69 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING QRDI. <br />NANCE NUMBER 18, THE zONING <br />ORDINANCE, TO PROVIDE FOR MUL- <br />TIPLE DWELLINGS <br />The Villa~e Council of the Village of <br />Arden Hills docs hereby ordain as fol. <br />lows, to-wit: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Paragraph (A) of Section 3 of Ordi. <br />nance Number 18, known as the <br />Zoning Ordinance, is hereby amend- <br />ed to read as follows: <br />(A) In order to regulate and re- <br />strict the location of trades, In- <br />dustries and other uses, and the 10-- <br />cation of buildings desil{ned. erect- <br />ed, altered or occupied for specified <br />p\1l'poses; to regulate nnd limit the <br />height and size of buildings here- <br />after ereded or altered; to regulate <br />and determine the area of yards and <br />other open spaces. and to regulate <br />and limit the dellsity of popllllI.tion, <br />the Village of Arden HUls is here. <br />hy divided into districts of which <br />there shall be six, known ns R.E, <br />R-l, B-2 (re:::.idfmtial), R-3 (multiple <br />dwellinKs), C (commercial) and I <br />(industrial). <br />SECTION 2. <br />Section 4 of Ordinance Number 18, <br />known as the Zoning Ordinance, is <br />hel'eby amended to add the following <br />under "Permitted Uses:" <br />R-3: Multiple Dwellings <br />REGULATIONS FOR MULTIPLE <br />DWELLING DISTRICTS <br />In the mllltiple dwelling district, <br />unless otherwise provided in this <br />ordinance, no building or land shall <br />be ul>ed and no builrlinK shall here- <br />after be erected or structurally al- <br />tered except for uses permitted <br />with respect to oiher residential dis- <br />tricts as hereinheforeprovided, or <br />except for use as a multiple dwell- <br />ing, including pa~.ticularly, but with- <br />out limitation, double bungalows, <br />apartments and flats. <br />In addition to the zoning of the <br />property to R-3, no construction of <br />Buch multiple dwellings shall com- <br />mence until a building permit there~ <br />for shall be granted by the Council. <br />Application for such a permit shall <br />be made to the COllncil. In consider- <br />ing such application the Council <br />shall J?roceed in accordance with t.he <br />provisiOn!' of Section 5 of this Ordi- <br />nance and may prescribe, as a con. <br />dition to the issuance of such per_ <br />mit, suitable off street parking, <br />screen planting, and set-backs in ac- <br />cordance with the provisions of <br />Section 5 hereof, or such other con. <br />ditions ns the Council mny deem <br />proper in accordance with general <br />purposes of this Zoning Ordinance. <br />This Ordinance shall be in effect <br />from and after its passage and pub- <br />lication. <br />Adopted. by the Village Council of <br />~9t2~n Hills this 26 day of November. <br />Robert O.
