Larry Brodie, liard Hanson, Rod <br />Schumacher, Ruth Cadwel I, Gerald Buetow and <br />Robert Kerr (arrived late). <br /> <br />Absent - Carolyn Tlssol, Bert Schutta <br /> <br />Also Present - Atty. Vincent P. Courtney, Planning Con- <br />sultant Carl Dale, Mayor Robert E. Nethercut, <br />Trustees Hoffmann and Bjorndahl. <br /> <br />A quorum of the Planning Commission was present. <br /> <br />Mr. Jenal Introduced those present and proceeded to ex~laln the purpose <br />of t~~ Public Hearing. He Informed the residents that In compliance <br />wIth the Minnesota Planning Act, the Planning Commlssio~ was required <br />to study the Comprehensive Plan, to hold a Public Hearing and to advise <br />the Council of their recommendation. <br /> <br />/' <br /> <br />He stated that the Comprehensive Plan consIsts of a Comprehensive <br />Development Plan map and five volumes - namely: <br /> <br />Planning Report # I - S u rve y and Analysis <br />.. II #2 "- Comp f'ehan s I va Development Plan <br />II .. 113 - Proposed SubdivisIon Regulations <br />II II #4 - Zoning Regulations <br />II II #5 - Planning Administrative Procedures. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />Mr. Jenal emphasized that proposed subdivision regulations and zoning <br />regulations will be considered at a later date and will not be Included <br />In tonight's nearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Jenal pointed out some of the hi-lites of the Plan which Included <br />the fol lowing Information: <br /> <br />The purpose of the Plan is to set goals and standards appropriate <br />for Arden Hills. The goalS recommended came from analysis of surveys. <br />The community should be developed, Including transportation, utilities, <br />etc. The land ~se should be designated for all areas with the public <br />Image being considered, and consideration of nuisance objections. <br />Civic Center requirements should be established and a site should be <br />selecteg as soon as possible. Playgrounds should be acquired before <br />prices h'lr."~.ase. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
