The BEC program provides for the safety of county employees and <br /> the public in county facilities. BEC's emergency preparedness and <br /> response activities assist in ensunng the continuation of <br /> governmental services in county facilities following a disaster. The <br /> program focuses upon developing a "Building Emer!lency and <br /> Evacuation Plan" (BEEP) for each county facility of 10 or more <br /> staff. <br /> The BEC has the responsibility for establishing and maintaining a <br /> building emergency plan that contains essential information for <br /> responding to an emergency situation, including building floor <br /> plans, after-hours contact roster, vendor/utilities contacts, multi- <br /> hazard threat response procedures, and the county's building <br /> closure policy. The BEC may also select personnel from within the <br /> building to assist in these activities. The BEC conducts annual fire <br /> evacuation drills in each county facility. The Property Management <br /> department manages the BEC. The overall BEG program is <br /> coordinated by EMHS. <br /> . <br /> 51 <br />
