Wolfe, City Administrator <br /> Schawn P. Johnson, Assistant City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Appointment of Amy Hove as Finance Director/Treasurer <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The position of Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer became vacant when Murtuza Siddiqui <br /> accepted a position with Metropolitan State University in August. The City received eight <br /> applications for the open position. Five candidates were selected to participate in the first round <br /> interviews. The first round of interviews was conducted by the City Administrator, Roseville <br /> Assistant Finance Director and the Assistant City Administrator. After reviewing the five <br /> candidates, City staff elected to pursue two candidates. The top two candidates were asked to <br /> participate in a personnel assessment session with a ce11ified psychologist. The intent of the <br /> personnel assessment was to detennine the candidate's abilities, attitudes, and personality <br /> characteristics as it relates to the Finance Director/Treasurer position. The second rounds of <br /> interviews were conducted on December 29th. The interview panel included City Administrator <br /> Michelle Wolfe, Assistant City Administrator Schawn Johnson and Elizabeth Diaz from Ehlers <br /> & Associates. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> The recommended candidate is Ms. Amy Hove. Ms. Hove has a Bachelor's Degree from Luther <br /> College in accounting and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Hamline <br /> University. She is also a member of the Govemment Finance Officers Association. She is <br /> currently employed by Goodhue County as the Chief Deputy Auditor/Treasurer. In that capacity <br /> she is responsible for coordinating the annual financial statement, audits, general ledgers, and the <br /> development of financial policies and procedures. <br /> Prior to her work with Goodhue County, Ms. Hove worked as an Accountant for Red Wing <br /> Publishing. She was responsible for overseeing monthly joumal entries, financial reports, and <br /> inventory supplies. <br /> Ms. Hove has a solid background in the finance and accounting field and has indicated a strong <br /> interest in this position with the City of Arden Hills. City staff has completed reference checks <br />
