In December of 2005, the City Council authorized the Economic Development <br /> Commission (EDC) to hire a consultant to prepare an Economic Development <br /> Strategic Plan for the City. The EDC immediately began the RFP process and in <br /> March of 2006 hired DeSCo Solutions, Inc., to prepare the Plan. <br /> DeSCo in collaboration with the EDC gathered information through research and <br /> interviews with City Officials, Key Leaders and Stakeholders, as well as through a <br /> city-wide survey, then used this information to prepare the attached Economic <br /> Development Strategic Plan. <br /> The EDC has since reviewed the Plan and, after making some changes to the Plan, <br /> has recommended adoption and implementation of this plan in and for the City of <br /> Arden Hills. <br /> EDC Chair Bruce Kunkel presented the Plan to the Council at the October 16 council <br /> meeting. Council acknowledged and thanked the EDC for all of the effort that went <br /> into developing the Plan. Recognizing that there is a great deal of information and <br /> financial ramifications associated with the Plan, the Council requested the Plan be <br /> brought to a work session for more in-depth discussion. Council further discussed <br /> the plan at their October 30, 2006 work session at which time it was determined <br /> that the plan would entail additional discussions. <br /> . <br />
