NOTICE OF ABATEl\1ENT BY THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS Octoher 3, 2006 Mr. John Stickney Ms. Linda Stickney 1901 Stowe A venue Arden Hills, MN 55112 Dear Property Owner: The City of Arden Hills, under City Code Seetion 710.12, operates a program for Shade Tree Disease Control. This program includes inspecting elm and oak trees for disease disruption, root gralls, and the removal of and proper disposal of diseased trees and wood. It is the rcsponsibility of the home owner to removc the diseased or dying tree(s) from their property with in ten (10) days of tbe notice date. . According to the City Trce Inspector, an incident of Dutch Elm Disease or Oak Wilt Disease was found on your property. A diseased tree notice, dated .Jolv 25, 2006 was sent as certified, retum receipt mail to you informing you of the diseased tree(s) and the action(s) rcquired to resolve this situation. As of today, it has hecn --.lL days since the notification date. Section 710.12. Suhdi\ision 12 stalcs that "in thc cvent the owner fails or refuses to ahate the nuisances as so required, then the t()rester shall upon orders from the Council, abatc thc nuisance hy cutting down diseased shade trees and removing all parts, branches and brush thereof, together with any diseased wood of any diseased shadc trees located on thc premises, from the premises lo an authorized disposal or chipping site. The cost of the City's ahating thc nuisanee shall be hilled to the owner or occupant of the prcmises upon whieh the nuisanecs existed." If the diseased trce(s) is not removed by Monday, October 16,2006, a requcst to proceed with ahatement will he brought to the City Council ror approval on October 30, 2006.
