<br />Additionally, HKGi has extensive experience in conducting Comp Plan Updates and was <br />previously involved in preparing the 2002 Arden Hills Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan (as <br />Ingraham & Assoc who merged with HKGi in 2005), as well as the 2005 TCAAP Sports Facility <br />Plan (commissioned by the Mounds View School District). Information regarding HKGi is <br />attached for your reference (Exhibit C). <br /> <br />HKGi is proposing to facilitate the comprehensive plan update process and will be responsible <br />for preparation of a number of components of the Plan, including: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Preparation of a project manual to help coordinate project management and foster a <br />collaborative planning process; <br />Conduct meetings with staff, Plauning Commission and City Council (3); <br />Development of a common graphic style for mapping; <br />Review of relevant plans and studies; <br />Documentation oflocal, regional and national trends that impact Arden Hills; <br />Conduct Community Workshops/meetings (2); <br />Draft a Community Vision statement; <br />Assess plauning issues and assumptions; <br />Oversight of all, and preparation of certain chapters of the Comp Plan; <br />Preparation of draft Comprehensive Plan <br />Conduct Public Hearing <br />Refine plan and prepare final text and graphics. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />HKGi has submitted an estimate of $32,370.00 for the above-reference services associated with <br />the Comprehensive Plan Update. <br /> <br />Staff is anticipating additional consulting services related to transportation, engineering, and <br />demographic/census information, as of yet to be determined. <br /> <br />The City Attorney, Jerry Filla has reviewed the contract (Exhibit D) for HKGi's services and has <br />approved it pending minor changes to wording. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff is recommending Council move to approve the contract with HKGi to assist with the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan Update, in an amount not to exceed $36,900.00, to allow for unforeseen <br />contingencies, such as an additional meeting. <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Work Session <br />February 20, 2007 <br /> <br />\\Metro-inet.uslardenhillslPlanningICommunity Development\Council Agenda ItemslComprehensive Plan Update Consulting Services <br />032107.doc <br /> <br />Page 2 of2 <br />
