The City will create a <br />demographic and socio-economic profile from Census information and from <br />information compiled by Excensus. <br /> <br />2.4 Consider Local, Regional and National Trends that Impact Arden <br />Hills. Review street classifications and traffic volumes; examine existing <br />standards and policies for parks and trails; and consider emerging development <br />trends Le. walkablity, green infrastructure, etc. <br /> <br />2.5 Conduct Staff Meeting. A meeting with staff will be held to review and <br />refine materials generated in Task 2. <br /> <br /> <br />Deliverables: Thefollowing deliverables will be part of Task 2 <br />o Technical Memorandum documenting recent plans and studies as well as <br />trends <br /> <br />Staff Responsibilities: <br /> <br />o Mapping and GIS analysis <br />o Census profile <br />o Collection and distribution of key background information and map data to <br />consultant team <br />o Summary of meeting notes from Staff meetings. <br /> <br />Task 3 Explore and Confirm the Vision <br />The purpose of this task will be to establish a Vision and set of Guiding Principles that <br />will be used to help shape the Comprehensive Plan. This task will include the first <br />community workshop and the drafting of a Vision Statement. Subtasks include: <br /> <br />3.1Conduct Community Workshop #l-Vision Session. This task will be <br />the first of three community workshops, two of which will involve HKGL Each <br />community workshop will be designed to engage the community in'exercises to <br />help shape the future of Arden Hills. Workshop #1 will be focused on <br />confirming directions established in past and recent planning initiatives and <br />defining the "Vision" of the community that will guide the development of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. HKGi will work with staff and the Planning Commission <br />to design the process for the Community Workshop. <br /> <br />Community Workshop #1 will begin with presentations that will set the stage <br />for the plan. Information to be presented will include but not be limited to the <br />changing demographic profile of the city and the directions that have been <br />established for the TCAAP site. Within the framework of this background <br />information, meeting participants will be involved in small and large group <br />discussions focused on soliciting information that will help define (or refine) a <br />future vision for the community. <br /> <br />3.2 Summarize Workshop #1 and Draft Vision. Working with City Staff, <br />HKGi will summarize the findings and results of Workshop 1 and will prepare a <br />draft vision statement that will be subject to further review and refinement as <br />the process evolves. <br /> <br />3.3 Planning Commission/City Council Meeting.
